Barcelona

Cusine & culture in the Catalan capital

Ater a short flight from Bristol (including a specatcular view over the city coming in to land) we had 5 days in Barcelona to see/eat and take in as much as possible.

The view from the top of Montjuïc Castle is incredible providing incerdible views back over the city. The place was desereted when we visited as well which was an added bonus!

La Sagarda Familia (The Holy Family) has been a work in progress for more than century making it a rather unique building. We didn't go in as we felt the best views were of it's exterior (plus the queue was massive).

Barcelona is somewhere that I'd seriosuly consider moving to - it combines parks, beaches, great food and aspects of city life that I am yet to find anywhere else.

Best View

Looking back over Barcelona from Montjuïc Castle (take the cable car up for some great views en route).

Most interesting thing I learnt

The beaches are artificial. They were added for the 1992 Olympics.

Favourite Moment

Getting lost in the winding alleys of the Gothic Quarter.

Most enjoyable meal

Eating Tapas and drinking red wine late in to the night.

Biggest Surprise

How easy it is to get around on foot - public transport was used sparingly.

Top tip

Stroll Gaudi’s Parc Guell (book tickets in advance)
